THE STARTING POINT

The idea.

Bring a work surface, display shelving, and closed storage together in one built-in that feels at home in the study.

THE DESIGN DIRECTION

Making it work.

Tall cabinetry frames the desk and open shelves. An arched wood surround and paneled back give the center its character, while warm shelf lighting brings out the wood grain and the objects on display.

THE CONSIDERED DETAILS

  • Desk spanning the built-in
  • Central drawer stack
  • Tall cabinets on either side
  • Open shelves with integrated lighting
  • Paneled back and arched wood surround
